634 WWUS86 KEKA 240255 RFWEKA Urgent - Fire Weather Message National Weather Service Eureka CA 755 PM PDT Wed Jun 23 2021 ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA... .An area of low pressure will bring the threat of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon to far northern Trinity, extreme northeastern Humboldt, and southwestern Siskiyou counties. Storms will develop during the early afternoon and then move west near the Siskiyou- Trinity county line. Scattered thunderstorms are likely with numerous lightning strikes on dry fuels. CAZ204-283-241100- /O.NEW.KEKA.FW.W.0001.210624T1900Z-210625T0300Z/ Lower Middle Klamath-Trinity- 755 PM PDT Wed Jun 23 2021 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM PDT THURSDAY... The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM PDT Thursday. * AFFECTED AREA...Portions of fire weather zones 204 and 283 in northern Trinity, extreme northeast Humboldt, and southwestern Siskiyou counties. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms with numerous lightning strikes on dry fuels. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Wind gusts to 40 mph possible with the stronger storms. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop may spread rapidly. This pattern will likely result in scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon, especially just east of our area in Siskiyou and Shasta County. Thunderstorms are expected to track westward and expand across portions of northern Trinity, possibly reaching northeast Humboldt and southwest Siskiyou County. Isolated thunderstorms are possible near and south of the Highway 299 and 36 corridors in Trinity County, but expect the threat of lightning to be limited compared to aforementioned areas to the north.
