* At 1258 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

MORNING FOR WASHTENAW AND WAYNE COUNTIES...
At 153 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have
fallen particularly from Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti along and north of
Michigan Avenue into Detroit. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an
hour can be expected before the activity shifts north of the area
over the next hour or two. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.

At 238 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen particularly from Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti along and north of
Michigan Avenue into Detroit. Localized rainfall rates of 1 to 2
inches an hour can still be expected before the heaviest rainfall
breaks up and shifts north of the area over the next hour or so.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible locally in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing with many area roadways
flooded and impassable.

At 357 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain moving back northeast into the warned area. Between 3 and 6
inches of rain have already fallen particularly from Ann Arbor and
Ypsilanti along and north of Michigan Avenue into Detroit. While the
additional rainfall early this morning will not be as intense as
earlier activity, up to another one inch of rain will be possible by
dawn in localized areas. Flash flooding is ongoing with many area
roadways flooded and impassable.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 6 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING
FOR WASHTENAW AND WAYNE COUNTIES...
While the threat of Flash Flooding has subsided, widespread flooding
will persist this morning across the area as the water takes time to
runoff. Hence, this Flash Flooding Warning will be replaced by an
areal Flood Warning until noon.
A Flood Watch also remains in effect until 400 AM EDT Sunday for a
portion of southeast Michigan. Additional heavy rainfall will become
more likely again late in the day into tonight.
