The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a * Flood Watch for a portion of south central Kansas, including the following area, Barber. * From 9 PM CDT this evening through Thursday afternoon * Rains from Wednesday morning produced 5 to 6 inches in southeast Barber county and there were reports of flooding near Kiowa. An inch or more of rain is possible tonight with another round of storms moving through the area. * Potential flooding for Barber county which may lead to road closures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
