THIS AFTERNOON FOR STRONG WEST WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE 
WEATHER ZONE 313...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 5 PM MST
this afternoon. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 313.
 
* WIND...Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts as high as
  30 to 40 mph at times. 

* HUMIDITY...12 to 15 percent across the southern Nebraska 
  Panhandle...especially Banner and Kimball Counties.

* HAINES...4 to locally 5

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended. While the relative 
  humidity values will likely not reach critical fire weather 
  values (at or below 15%), the dryness of the fuels in 
  combination with the elevated winds gusting 30 to 40 mph will 
  be more than enough to carry fire if there is an ignition 
  source.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...RED FLAG WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON FOR 
FIRE WEATHER ZONES 310 AND 313...

Cold front will continue to pass through the area this evening
bringing cooler temperatures to the area Wednesday. Relative
humidity has risen into the upper 20s and expected to recover
around 40 to 50 percent tonight. Additionally, winds will also
calm down this evening while turning more northerly. Therefore,
the Red Flag Warning was allowed to expire.
