566 WWUS81 KBUF 221601 SPSBUF Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1101 AM EST Fri Jan 22 2021 NYZ020-021-221700- Cattaraugus-Allegany- 1101 AM EST Fri Jan 22 2021 ...AN AREA OF HEAVY SNOW WILL AFFECT SOUTHEASTERN CATTARAUGUS AND ALLEGANY COUNTIES... At 1058 AM EST, a line of snow showers will drop southeast across I- 86 late this morning producing a burst of snow which will reduce visibility to below a half mile at times. Although this will only produce around an inch of snow, it will result in slick travel conditions late this morning. Locations impacted include... Olean, Salamanca, Wellsville, Allegany State Park, Alfred, Ashford, Allegany, Franklinville, Belfast, Cuba, Rushford, Weston Mills, St. Bonaventure, Ashford Hollow, Houghton, Whitesville, Caneadea, Hinsdale, Friendship and Great Valley. This includes Interstate 86 between exits 20 and 33. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads.
