Missisquoi River Near North Troy affecting Orleans County.
.Warm temperatures are melting high mountain snowpack and increasing
river flows. Rainfall starting Friday morning will further increase
river flows. .
For the Missisquoi River...including North Troy...Minor flooding is
forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* Flood Warning for
the Missisquoi River Near North Troy.
* From this evening to late Friday night.
* At 6:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to rise to 9.1 feet this evening,
then will crest shortly after midnight and potentially fall to
below minor flood stage overnight. The river will then begin
rising again Friday morning as temperatures further rise and rain
spreads over the region, cresting around 10.0 feet Friday
afternoon. The river is expected to fall below minor flood stage
by Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 8.0 feet, Water overflows onto farm lands from Lowell
downstream to North Troy.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Water floods farmlands along the Missisquoi
River from Lowell to North Troy. Low lying portions of Loop Road
near Troy and Westfield will flood, as well as portions of River
Road from Troy to North Troy.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 4:30 AM EDT Friday was 9.4 feet.
* Forecast...The river will remain near steady before rising again
late this afternoon to 10.4 feet by this evening. It will fall
below flood stage again late this evening to 4.8 feet.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Water floods farmlands along the Missisquoi
River from Lowell to North Troy. Low lying portions of Loop Road
near Troy and Westfield will flood, as well as portions of River
Road from Troy to North Troy.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet, Water will inundate River Road between Troy
and North Troy, as well as portions of Loop Road in Westfield and
Troy. Water will cover portions of Route 100 near Troy, and well
upstream near Lowell. There will be widespread flooding of
lowlands, fields, and pastures along the Missisquoi from Lowell to
North Troy.

* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 8:30 PM EDT Friday was 11.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to 11.3 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage (9.0 feet) late
tomorrow morning and continue receding through the day on Saturday.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Water floods farmlands along the Missisquoi
River from Lowell to North Troy. Low lying portions of Loop Road
near Troy and Westfield will flood, as well as portions of River
Road from Troy to North Troy.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet, Water will inundate River Road between Troy
and North Troy, as well as portions of Loop Road in Westfield and
Troy. Water will cover portions of Route 100 near Troy, and well
