The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a * Flood Watch for portions of central Vermont and southern Vermont, including the following areas, in central Vermont, Eastern Addison, Orange and Western Addison. In southern Vermont, Eastern Rutland, Western Rutland and Windsor. * From Monday morning through late Monday night. * Moderate to locally heavy rain is expected from Hurricane Henri as it lifts into New England and transitions into a post tropical cyclone. Parts of southern and central Vermont are expected to receive about 1 to 3 inches of precipitation, with locally higher amounts focused along the higher terrain of the southern Greens of Vermont. * Heavy rain will cause flash flooding over urban and poor drainage areas. Additionally, sharp rises on small creeks and streams will be possible. At this time, Otter Creek at Center Rutland is forecast to rise towards bankful Monday afternoon.
