...The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton MA has issued a 
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Massachusetts...

  Sudbury River At Saxonville affecting Middlesex County.

  Shawsheen River At Andover affecting Essex County.

  Neponset River At Norwood affecting Norfolk and Suffolk Counties.

.Tropical Storm Elsa has brought significant rainfall to the region, 
resulting in sharp rises in some area rivers. Minor flooding is 
forecast for the Sudbury, Shawsheen and Neponset Rivers in 
Massachusetts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this 
  afternoon to a crest of 9.1 feet this afternoon. It will then fall 
  below flood stage by early evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs along the 
  Neponset River in Norwood.

* At 11:15 AM EDT Friday the stage was 8.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to the 10.0 foot flood 
  stage around midnight tonight. It will then hover near flood stage 
  before falling below 10 feet by early tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, Flooding will affect low lying areas along 
  the river in Wayland, including a portion of Shore Road and Pelham 
  Island Road near Heards Pond.this afternoon

* At 11:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 26.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.0 feet 
  just after midnight tonight. The river is then expected to fall 
  during the overnight hours.
* Impact...At 29.0 feet, Floodwaters encroach on very lowest lying 
  business parking lots off of Route 114 in Lawrence and North 
  Andover that are adjacent to the Shawsheen River.

The Flood Warning is cancelled for
  the Neponset River At Norwood.
* At 3:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* The Neponset River at Norwood crested at 8.94 feet at 1:30 this 
  afternoon, just short of Flood Stage. Since then the river has 
  started to recede.
* Forecast...The river is expected to continue to recede tonight, 
  falling to 7.7 feet Saturday morning.
