The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Weld County in northeastern Colorado...

* Until 130 AM MDT.

* At 1032 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches,
           roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Purcell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small 
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM MDT EARLY THIS 
MORNING FOR NORTH CENTRAL WELD COUNTY...

At 1225 AM MDT, thunderstorms have moved out of the warning area. 
Between 3 and 5.5 inches of rain fell this evening in the area east 
and northeast of Nunn, north of Purcell. Flash flooding is ongoing 
in this area. Flood waters will be moving down Coal Creek where it 
crosses County Road 57 and Highway 14 between Purcell and Briggsdale.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

FOR NORTH CENTRAL WELD COUNTY...

The heavy rain has ended and flood waters are receding. Water may 
remain high on Coal Creek near County Road 57 and Highway 14 west of 
Briggsdale through the night. Drivers on rural roads between Nunn 
and Briggsdale should be alert for standing water and areas where 
roads have eroded.
