The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern Otsego County in central New York...
* Until 645 PM EDT.
* At 344 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over Chenango county. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain
have already fallen in Otsego county from previous storms. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly as this additional rain
moves through the area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Cooperstown, Hartwick, Cherry Valley, Glimmerglass State Park and
Oaksville.
Another 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected in the warned area as new
thunderstorms move through.
