...The National Weather Service in Gaylord MI has issued a Flood 
Warning for the following rivers in Michigan...

  Manistee River near Sherman affecting Wexford County.

.Recent cold temperatures have created an ice jam on the Manistee 
River near Sherman. This will cause water to infiltrate the lowlands 
along the river.

For the Manistee River...including Sherman...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you 
can do so safely.

  the Manistee River near Sherman.
* From late tonight to late Monday night.
* At 6:30 PM EST Sunday the stage was 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast. 
* Forecast...The river is forecast to quickly rise to 15.0 feet 
  through the night. How long it remains near or above minor flood 
  stage will depend on the severity of the ice blockage.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, Flooding begins around the Wilderness Canoe 
  livery along left bank of river just downstream of M-37 bridge.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.0 
  feet on 12/11/1995.

* Forecast...The river is forecast to remain near 14.0 feet over the 
  next few days. This forecast is uncertain, as ice jams are 
  affecting river levels in the Sherman and Mesick areas. 
  Considerable and rapid fluctuations in river levels are possible, 
  especially given that very cold weather will persist all week. 
  People near the Manistee River should monitor river levels over
