May 17, 8:10 PM CDT	FLASH FLOOD	Palo Duro Canyon, TX	SIGNIFICANT FLOODING OCCURRED IN THE PARK. NUMEROUS TRAIL BRIDGES OVER CREEKS WERE WASHED OUT AND LOST. A ROCKSLIDE CAUSED BY THE FLOODING BLOCKED MAIN ROAD THAT DESCENDS DOWN INTO THE CANYON AND HAD TO BE CLEARED.

* At 727 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain will affect the warned area. Flash flooding is expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN RANDALL COUNTY...

At 920 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already
fallen. Flash flooding is potentially occurring in Palo Duro Canyon.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage 
         and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Amarillo, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Palo Duro Canyon, Mescalero Park
and Timbercreek Canyon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
