...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT CENTRAL CURRITUCK COUNTY...
At 921 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Indiantown, or
near Currituck, moving east at 15 mph.
Wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible with this storm. In
addition...Doppler radar has indicated weak rotation with this
storm. While a tornado is not immediately likely, remain alert for
any possible warnings.
Locations impacted include...
Currituck, Barco, Coinjock, Aydlett, Waterlily, Gregory, Maple and
Shawboro.
If you see lightning or hear thunder, you are at risk! Take shelter
indoors immediately. If you cannot find shelter in a building a
vehicle provides safety from lightning.
Strong wind gusts are possible with this storm. These wind gusts are
capable of knocking down tree limbs, small or weakened trees, and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture, and other
light outdoor objects.
