Heavy snow showers earlier this morning put down 8 to 10 inches of
snow in Yakutat. Scattered light snow showers will continue
through the evening with only light accumulations expected.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM AKST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. 1 to 3 inches of snow has already
  fallen Monday afternoon with an additional 3 to 6 inches 
  expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches.

* WHERE...Juneau, Douglas, and Angoon

* WHEN...Until 11 PM AKST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A band of heavy snow has set up from
  southern Baranof Island to Angoon to Juneau. This band is
  expected to remain in place through the evening with snowfall
  rates exceeding 1" per hour at times. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

As of 7:30pm, 8 inches of snow was measured in the Mendenhall
Valley. Snow has tapered off since then, with the main band of
precipitation moving westward. No additional accumulations are
expected.
