...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM SUNDAY TO 5 AM AKST
MONDAY FOR THOMPSON PASS...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of
  4 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Reduced
  visibilities as low as one quarter mile at times.

* WHERE...Northeast Prince William Sound.

* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to 5 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing 
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. The cold wind 
  chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on 
  exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to begin early Sunday
  morning and persist through early Monday morning. Snow is
  expected to be fine, powdery, and easily transportable. Falling
  and blowing snow may reduce visibilities as low as one quarter
  mile at times. Visibilities may worsen in the wake of other 
  vehicles. Road conditions will be slippery, use caution when 
  driving.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions, making travel very hazardous. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay
with your vehicle.

TO 1 AM AKST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 2 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts west of Kodiak 
  City. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Falling and/or blowing 
  snow may reduce visibilities as low as one half mile at times.

* WHERE...Kodiak City and surrounding communities.

* WHEN...From 8 AM Saturday to 1 AM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. High snow rates
  and/or areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce
  visibility to one half mile at times.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to begin over Kodiak
  Island Saturday morning. A brief period of above freezing
  temperatures during the day on Saturday may lead to a transition
  from snow to a rain/snow mix before switching back to all snow.
  Winds are predicted between 40 to 45 mph with gusts as high as
  55 mph. Anticipate falling and blowing snow to reduce
  visibilities to one half mile at times.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case
of an emergency.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

The low in the Gulf has tracked about 100 miles farther east than
anticipated which will keep the winter storm conditions east of
Kodiak Island. Strong winds will persist through this evening and
there should be periods of snow through this evening as well.
However, with temperatures warming into the mid 30s there will be
little to no snow accumulation at sea level. Areas above 500 ft
elevation on the east side of Kodiak and Afognak Islands will
still see some snow accumulation.
