359 WWAK72 PAFC 261628 NPWALU URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 728 AM AKST Tue Jan 26 2021 AKZ191-270300- /O.NEW.PAFC.HW.W.0002.210126T1800Z-210127T0300Z/ Western Aleutians- Including the city of Shemya and Amchitka 728 AM AKST Tue Jan 26 2021 ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AKST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Southeast winds 55 to 75 mph with gusts up to 80 mph expected. * WHERE...Western Aleutians. * WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST this evening. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong 936 mb low will track slightly more westward than previously expected. The strongest winds will be from Kiska Island eastward, however gusts to 75 mph are still possible for Shemya and Attu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread power outages.
