...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 4 PM TODAY FOR THE 
EAST CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WEST WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND 
WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES...

.A storm system passing north of New Mexico will spread strong
west to northwest winds across eastern NM today. Very dry air 
with well above normal temperatures will elevate the threat of 
critical fire weather conditions. Winds will turn sharply to the 
north as a strong cold front arrives tonight.

THIS AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 4 PM MST
this afternoon. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. 

* AREA AND TIMING...East Central Plains this afternoon.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...West-northwest 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15%.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Red Flag Warning.
