The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Socorro County in central New Mexico...
  Central Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* Until 1230 AM MDT.

* At 930 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall 
  amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are possible in the warned area. 
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Los Lunas, Belen, Valencia, Bosque Farms, Jarales, Casa Colorada, 
  Los Trujillos-Gabaldon, Rio Communities, Veguita, Los Chaves, 
  Tome, Rio Communities North, Bernardo, El Cerro Mission, La Joya, 
  Peralta, Sabinal, Adelino, Las Nutrias and Abeytas.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 165 and 207.
	Highway 60 between Mile Markers 166 and 173.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. 
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
