...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...North winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* WHERE...All of El Paso county, with the strongest winds
  occurring along and north of the Highway 94 corridor and the Ft
  Carson region. 

* WHEN...Until 2 PM MST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. 
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be 
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of snow will cause reduced
  visibilities and slippery roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.

Gusty winds to 30 to 45 mph will continue across El Paso county
through mid afternoon and then gradually decrease by late
afternoon. At this time we do not expect the winds to reach high
wind warning criteria, or greater than 58 mph, the rest of this
afternoon across El Paso county.
