The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Huerfano County in southeastern Colorado...

* Until 745 PM MDT.

* At 441 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Around one half inch of rain 
  has already fallen, especially in the Middle Creek drainage. Flash 
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing 
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, 
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county, Middle 
  Creek, Indian Creek on the southeastern Spring Burn Scar and 
  southern Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar may result in debris flow 
moving through the Middle Creek drainage. The debris flow can 
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

This includes the following areas, South Abeyta Creek near County
Road 442.
  
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM MDT FOR
CENTRAL HUERFANO COUNTY...

At 505 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain have moved south and east of the warned area. The Middle Creek 
precipitation gage reported 1.1 inches of rain over the past hour, 
with doppler radar indicaing between four tenths and one inch across 
the Spring burn area, south of Highway 160 in Huerfano County. Flash 
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash 
         flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, 
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
