...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EXPECTED...
Thunderstorms with heavy rain will cause minor flooding in the
following counties...
Pepin...Dunn...Eau Claire...
* Until 1215 PM CDT.
* At 1021 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Overflow of water will result in minor flooding of
poor drainage locations in the area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eau Claire, Altoona, Durand, Augusta, Fall Creek, Pepin, Eau Galle,
Fairchild, Ludington, Rock Falls, Foster and Caryville.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are low water crossings which are potentially
dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find
an alternate route.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
