The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Sibley County in central Minnesota...
  Southwestern Scott County in east central Minnesota...
  Northwestern Le Sueur County in south central Minnesota...
  Northeastern Nicollet County in south central Minnesota...

* Until 730 AM CDT.

* At 224 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Le Sueur, Le Center, Gaylord, Winthrop, Henderson, Lafayette, New 
  Sweden, Ottawa, Rush River, Norseland, New Rome and St Thomas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means that rapidly rising flood water is 
imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher 
ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should 
take immediate precautions to protect life and property.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency or the 
National Weather Service in the Twin Cities when you can do so 
safely.

SOUTHERN SIBLEY, SOUTHWESTERN SCOTT, NORTHWESTERN LE SUEUR AND 
NORTHEASTERN NICOLLET COUNTIES...

Rain is finally beginning to diminish, so new flash flooding is not 
expected. However, roads may be flooded or washed out so continue to 
heed remaining road closures.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1200 PM CDT for portions 
of east central Minnesota...south central Minnesota and southeast 
Minnesota.
