.An area of heavy snow will continue to expand across southern and
central Minnesota this afternoon, and into western Wisconsin by
the middle, and late afternoon hours. Most of the heavier 
snowfall will taper off this evening, but light snow will continue
overnight. Blowing snow, with significant reduction in surface 
visibility, will occur late tonight as winds increase from the 
northwest. The worst conditions will occur in west central, and 
into south central Minnesota. Surface visibility will be near zero
at times, especially in open country. In addition, falling 
temperatures will lead to icy roads and very cold temperatures, 
especially on Saturday.

This storm will impact travel. Expect snow-covered roads followed
by strong winds, blowing snow and falling temperatures.

.Snow has tapered off across central and southern Minnesota this
evening and has transitioned to freezing drizzle along and south
of the I-94 corridor. This freezing drizzle transition will
continue into western Wisconsin tonight. Freezing drizzle will 
last 3 to 5 hours at any one location before transitioning back to
snow for the rest of the storm. Additional snow accumulations of 
1 to 3 inches through Saturday morning are expected, which will 
bring storm total snowfall up to 4 to 7 inches across the area. 

Blowing snow, with significant reductions in visibility will 
occur early Saturday morning over western Minnesota as winds 
increase from the northwest. The worst conditions will occur in 
west central, and into south central Minnesota through the day 
Saturday. Surface visibility will be near zero at times,

.Light snow was moving east across central Minnesota early this
morning with some freezing drizzle now exiting eastern Minnesota.
The freezing drizzle will move across west central Wisconsin 
early before turning over to all snow. Any additional snow 
accumulation will be an inch of less across eastern Minnesota and 
west central Wisconsin.

Increasing northwest winds will cause blowing snow, with 
significant reductions in visibility expected to occur over
western Minnesota. Wind gusts to 50 mph are possible with
visibility possible near zero a times. The worst conditions will 
occur in west central into south central Minnesota through the 
day. The Blizzard Warning continues for west central into a 
portion of south central Minnesota today. In addition, falling 
temperatures will lead to icy roads and dangerously cold wind

central Minnesota. These winds will spread eastward across
southern Minnesota early this morning with blizzard conditions
expected to reach the I-35 corridor by 9 AM. 

Wind gusts to 55 mph are possible with visibilities near zero at 
times for the rest of the day. The worst conditions will occur in 
west central into south central Minnesota through the day. The
