...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
  For the Beach Hazards Statement, rough surf and breaking waves
  up to 6 feet.

* WHERE...Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and coastal
  Volusia counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water. The rough surf can knock you down
  and make you more susceptible to being caught in the seaward
  pull of a Rip Current. Entering the water is strongly
  discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.
