Rip currents may sweep even strong swimmers away from shore and into deeper water. The next low tide cycle along the east central Florida coast will occur around 200 PM and will be the peak time for rip currents. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
