341 WWUS82 KMFL 060310 SPSMFL Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Miami FL 1110 PM EDT Sun Jul 5 2020 FLZ069-070-060400- Coastal Collier County FL-Inland Collier County FL- 1110 PM EDT Sun Jul 5 2020 ...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL COLLIER COUNTY UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT... * At 1110 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles west of Copeland, or 10 miles northwest of Everglades City, moving northeast at 15 mph. * Winds in excess of 45 mph possible with this storm. * Locations impacted include... Everglades City, Plantation Island, Carnestown, Copeland, Big Cypress National Preserve, Miles City, South Blocks Golde, Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve, Picayune Strand State Forest, Jerome, Deep Lake and Port Of The Island. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the storm passes. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
