...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST EARLY THIS 
MORNING FOR SOUTHERN BROWARD AND NORTHERN MIAMI-DADE COUNTIES...

At 137 AM EST, Doppler radar continue to indicate a heavy rain band 
moving slowly northward over Northern Miami-Dade County where 1 to 2 
inches of rainfall has fallen during the last hour, which it turn 
allowed for the rainfall total to increased to 3 and 6 inches from 
the earlier heavy rain bands. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Doppler radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
         drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Miami, Hialeah, Hollywood, Miramar, Miami Beach, Homestead, Coral 
  Gables, Key Biscayne, South Miami, Surfside, Kendall, Black Point, 
  Virginia Key, The Redland, Homestead Miami Speedway, Miami 
  Gardens, Turkey Point, Hallandale, North Miami and Doral.

Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the 
warned area with this slow north moving heavy rain band.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses 
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you 
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

At 420 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated another band of heavy rains 
developing over the Atlantic waters of South Florida moving west 
northwest towards Miami-Dade County. As this band of heavy rains 
moves into the region addtional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches 
are possible on the already 3 to 6 inches that has fallen from 
previous heavy rains overnight. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
expected to begin shortly.
