The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern Broward County in southeastern Florida...
  Southeastern Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.

* At 913 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain moving into northeast Broward and Southeast Palm Beach 
  Counties from the Atlantic waters from the Atlantic waters. These 
  heavy rains will fall on the already 1 to 3 inches of rainfall 
  that has fallen earlier this evening from the previous feeder 
  band. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible 
  with these thunderstorms and flash flooding is expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, 
  Delray Beach, Lighthouse Point, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Highland 
  Beach, Oakland Park, Hillsboro Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes, Boca Del 
  Mar, Boca Pointe, Pompano Beach Airport, Fau South Campus, North 
  Pompano Beach, Boca West, Terra Mar, North Andrews Gardens and 
  Morikami Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  POMPANO CANAL, C-15, C-14 WEST, CORAL REEF, HILLSBORO CANAL, C-14 
  EAST and NORTH FORK MIDDLE RIVER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses 
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you 
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR 
NORTHERN BROWARD AND SOUTHEASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTIES...

Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no 
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining 
road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT Sunday for a 
portion of South Florida.
