The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  A small portion of north-central Miami-Dade County in southeastern 
  Florida...

* Until 1130 PM EDT.

* At 628 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly. Ongoing flooding could worsen, as well.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other 
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Hialeah, Doral, Miami Lakes, Hialeah Gardens and Miami Springs. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM EDT FOR
NORTH CENTRAL MIAMI-DADE COUNTY...

At 745 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the earlier 
thunderstorms producing heavy rain have ended across the warned 
area. While the heavy rainfall has ended, flooding remains a threat 
around canals and streams, highways, streets, and underpasses as 
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by earlier thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage 
         and low lying areas.
