for the following rivers in Illinois... 

  Rock River at Dixon affecting Lee County

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...If you encounter a flooded roadway...turn around and
find an alternate route.

Ice jams may cause rapid fluctuations in water levels with little or 
no warning. During ice jam flooding, not all locations may experience
impacts at the same time or to the same level of severity. Movement 
of river ice may cause additional flooding into areas not currently 
experiencing impacts. Residents near the river should remain alert 
for possible flooding.

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a 

* Flood Warning for 
  The Rock River at Dixon, or from Castle Rock State Park near Oregon
  downstream to Lee County line.
* until late Wednesday night.
* At  915 PM Sunday the stage was 15.6 feet and was ice affected.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Monday and continue to 
  rise to near 16.6 feet by Monday evening, though levels can fluctuate
  quickly. Ice jams can result in rapid rises in water levels with little or 
  no warning.
* Impact...Ice jam flooding is often very localized and may not impact
  all areas along the river at the same time or to the same level of 
  severity.
