...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
COASTAL PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO...

.The combination of a drier than normal air mass, very dry soils,
and strong winds will result in critical fire weather conditions
across these areas through this afternoon.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING FOR 
FIRE WEATHER ZONE 014...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM AST this evening. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 014.

* WIND...15 to 20 mph with gusts to near 30 mph. 

* HUMIDITY...35-40 percent across the southeast coastal plains.

* THUNDERSTORMS...None

* HIGHEST THREAT...Southeast coastal plains between Ponce and
  Patillas, including portions of Coamo. 

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
