...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AST THIS AFTERNOON FOR
THE SOUTHWEST COASTAL PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 4 PM AST this afternoon. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 027.

* WIND...15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph.

* HUMIDITY...40-50 percent.

* THUNDERSTORMS...None.

* HIGHEST THREAT...is located across the southwest coast of 
  Puerto Rico, in the vicinity of Cabo Rojo.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. 
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
