The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Rio Grande Municipality in Puerto Rico...
  Canovanas Municipality in Puerto Rico...

* Until 830 PM AST

* At 636 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated persistent heavy rain 
  across the warned area. The U.S.G.S. River Sensors indicate that 
  the rivers in the area are rising rapidly. Flash flooding is 
  possible.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. 

  SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

  IMPACT...Flooding of rivers, small creeks and streams, urban 
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other 
           drainage and low lying areas. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Canovanas and Rio Grande.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides in 
areas of steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, 
vegetation and other loose materials.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR RIO GRANDE AND CANOVANAS
MUNICIPALITIES WILL EXPIRE AT 830 PM AST...

The heavy rain has ended. However, there is significant flooding in 
some areas of Canovanas. Therefore, the Flash Flood Warning will 
expire, but a Flood Warning will be issued shortly due to the 
significant flooding currently over the area.
