shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Rip Current Risk,
dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover Counties.
* WHEN...Coastal Flood Advisory 5 PM to 7 PM EDT this evening.
High Rip Current Risk, until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Minor street flooding occurs on the sound-side of
Carolina Beach, along Canal Drive from Starfish Lane northward.
Water gets into yards along the sound, but the street flooding
is mainly the result of salt water backing up through the storm
drains. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from
shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High water run-up is expected late
afternoon to early evening along area beaches, this can be
dangerous to beachgoers.
