...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Long period west-northwest swell will continue to bring a
  threat for large breaking waves to area beaches today through
  early this evening. Breakers up to 18 ft will be possible on 
  west and northwest facing beaches. 

* WHERE...Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast, 
  Southwestern Humboldt and Mendocino Coast Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM PST this evening.. .

* IMPACTS... Large breaking waves will generate hazardous
  conditions on area beaches. This threat will be maximized on
  steeply sloped beaches. Large breaking waves can cause injury, 
  wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near 
  shore.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
