...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN ESSEX COUNTY...
At 358 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain from Andover to Georgetown and Newburyport, which were moving
northeast and over the same areas.
A spotter in North Andover reported 1.22 inches of rain in less than
one hour, and another spotter in Andover reported 1 inch of rain in
about 30 minutes.
Flooding has already been reported on Plum Island where roads were
becoming impassable.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.

the coast, but new storms were forming near Westford and Chelmsford,

flooding.
