* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will result in
an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businesses
near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be up to 2 feet
above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth
to close numerous roads. Flooding will extend inland from the
waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road
closures and flooding of vehicles. Breaking waves will result in
beach erosion and potential damage to some dune structures.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.
Avoid the beach and remain out of the water to avoid hazardous
surf conditions.

lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
* WHERE...James City, Isle of Wight, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Surry,
Newport News, Hampton/Poquoson and York Counties, and Suffolk
and Chesapeake.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate to severe flooding will cause extensive
inundation and flooding of numerous roads and buildings
resulting in a significant threat to property and life. Water
will be 2 to 3 feet or more above ground level in some areas.
Severe flooding will extend inland from the waterfront and
shoreline. Several roads will be impassable.
