...HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
6 PM AKDT THIS EVENING ALONG TURNAGAIN ARM AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS...

* WHAT...East winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph 
  expected.

* WHERE...Turnagain Arm and higher elevations of Anchorage,
  including the upper Hillside.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 6 PM AKDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, 
  and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially 
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will steadily increase during the
  morning hours and peak early to mid afternoon on Friday. Gusty
  winds will also develop at lower elevations Friday afternoon and
  evening. Most areas near sea level can expect gusts of 25 to 35
  mph, though there may be a few stronger gusts in Eagle River and
  lower hillside of Anchorage. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown
around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of
widespread power outages. Use caution if you must drive.

* WHAT...East winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 80 mph 
  expected.

* WHERE...Portage Valley and east Turnagain Arm.

* WHEN...From 4 AM early this morning to noon AKDT today.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, 
  and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially 
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will steadily increase overnight and
  peak Friday morning. The strongest winds will be in Portage
  Valley.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IS CANCELLED ALONG TURNAGAIN ARM AND HIGHER
ELEVATIONS...

Maximum wind gusts in Turnagain Arm and higher elevations are now
expected to be in the 45 to 65 mph range. Therefore the high wind
warning has been cancelled. 

Southeast winds gusting to to 35 mph are still expected to move 
over the Anchorage bowl later this afternoon.
