* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East central Floyd County in southwestern Virginia...
  Southern Franklin County in west central Virginia...
  Northeastern Patrick County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 1030 PM EDT

* At 436 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving and re-
  developing thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned 
  area. Since 2 PM, two to as much as three inches of rain have 
  already fallen. Additional heavy rains associated with 
  thunderstorms are expected to move over the warned area, with up 
  to an additional 2 inches of rain possible. Flash flooding is 
  expected to begin shortly.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT FOR 
EAST CENTRAL FLOYD...SOUTHERN FRANKLIN AND NORTHEASTERN PATRICK
COUNTIES...

At 622 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
that heavy rain had diminished across the region to lighter showers. 
However flash flooding is already occurring with several roads 
including Ruritan Road flooded in the Rocky Mount region. Runoff 
from the earlier heavy rain will likely lead to additional flooding 
of creeks and streams across the warned area this evening.
