The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South central Chelan County in north central Washington...

* Until 315 PM PDT.

* At 116 PM PDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash
  flooding is expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Number 2 Canyon, Wenatchee, West Wenatchee, South Wenatchee, 
  Monitor and Stump Campground.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of 
creeks and roads is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger 
rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially 
in and around these areas.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM PDT FOR
SOUTH CENTRAL CHELAN COUNTY...

At 133 PM PDT, trained weather spotters reported flash flooding in 
Number 2 Canyon south of Wenatchee. Automated rain gauges reported 
0.25 to 0.45 inch of rain in less than an hour in the area. Small 
hail is also reported. 

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wenatchee, Cashmere, Sunnyslope, West Wenatchee, South Wenatchee,
Monitor and Stump Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of 
creeks and roads is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger 
rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially 
in and around these areas.
