...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THIS
MORNING...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this morning
through this evening.

* WAVES AND SURF...Breaking waves up to 5 to 7 feet are expected
in the surf zone early today. In addition to the dangerous surf,
numerous strong and dangerous rip currents will also be present.

* TIMING...Water runup to the dune line along with beach erosion
is possible around the high tide cycle centered around 3:30 to
4:00 AM Friday morning. The threat for rip currents will be
present all day, but be especially high during the outgoing tide
early this morning and again late this afternoon through this
  evening.

* IMPACTS...Large waves could easily knock you down and make you
more susceptible to becoming caught in the strong seaward pull
of a rip current. Venturing into the surf is not recommended
  today.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards...beach patrol flags and
signs.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
