...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST MONDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect through this afternoon.

* WAVES AND SURF...A developing gale off the Georgia coast will
produce large breaking waves and rough surf through Monday
afternoon as well a high risk of strong rip currents today.

* TIMING...Large breaking waves will remain present in the surf
zone through Monday afternoon. Numerous strong rip currents
will be present all day today, but the risk will be highest
through 8 am this morning and again after 2 pm this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Minor beach erosion is likely during times of high
tide through Monday afternoon. The timings of high tide are
around 11 am this morning, 1130 pm this evening, and around noon
on Monday. Rough surf and strong rip currents will be present
  within the surf zone.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous surf conditions. Entering the water is not recommended.

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards...beach patrol flags and
signs.
