...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this morning
through this evening.

* WAVES AND SURF...Breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet will produce
rough pounding surf at the beaches. In addition to the dangerous
surf, there is also a High Risk of life threatening rip
  currents.

* Timing...Rough surf and a High Risk of rip currents will
continue today and possibly into Sunday.

* IMPACTS...People visiting the beach should not enter the surf.
Large breakers can knock you down and make you susceptible to
being caught in strong rip currents. Waves crashing across piers
and jetties can also make it difficult to stand or walk. Minor
beach erosion will occur around each high tide cycle. The next
high tide cycle will occur between 130 PM and 2 PM this
  afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards...beach patrol flags and
signs.
