The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Rip Current Risk, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this morning through this evening. * TIMING...While potential life-threatening rip currents will be present all day, the risk will be highest from 7 AM this morning through 1 PM this afternoon, and again after 7 PM this evening. * IMPACTS...Numerous strong rip currents and 4 to 6 foot breaking waves in the surf zone will post a threat to swimmers today. The long shore current will also make swimming hazardous to everyone, regardless of experience. Swimmers may not to enter the water above their knees today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
