...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for Rough Surf and strong rip currents, which 
is in effect until 7 PM EDT this evening. 

* HAZARDS...East winds 15 to 20 mph and gusty will produce rough
  surf with dangerous rip currents.

* TIMING...Through 7 pm.

* LOCATION...Atlantic coast beaches of Volusia, Brevard, Indian
  River, Saint Lucie and Martin counties.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf can knock you down and make you
  susceptible to seaward flowing rip currents.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
