...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 PM...
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 6 to 8 feet, along with a
  Moderate Threat for dangerous Rip Currents. 

* WHERE...Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Coastal
  Volusia Counties.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 10 AM Friday. For the
  Beach Hazards Statement, through 6 PM this evening.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions along with
  localized minor beach erosion. Rough surf can knock you down 
  and make you more susceptible to being caught in the seaward 
  pull of a Rip Current.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

High surf will affect the beaches in the advisory area, producing
localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.
Swimmers should remain out of the water due to large breaking
waves and dangerous surf conditions.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help. Weak simmers may not want to
enter the water above their knees today, or stay out of the water
entirely.
