...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM EST THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough choppy surf and a moderate risk of
rip currents, which is in effect from 10 AM EST this morning
through this evening.

* HAZARDS...Rough surf and choppy seas along the east central
  Florida coasts due to the combination of an onshore and
  longshore current and life threatening rip currents.

* TIMING...Mid-morning through early evening.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf and strong winds can knock you
  down and make you susceptible to seaward flowing rip currents.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
