FLZ047-054-059-064-141-147-140300- /O.NEW.KMLB.SU.Y.0008.191113T1200Z-191114T0300Z/ /O.NEW.KMLB.BH.S.0018.191113T1200Z-191114T0000Z/ Southern Brevard-Indian River-St. Lucie-Martin-Coastal Volusia- Northern Brevard- 327 AM EST Wed Nov 13 2019 ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM EST THIS EVENING... ...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING... The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a High Surf Advisory, which is in effect from 7 AM this morning to 10 PM this evening. A Beach Hazards Statement has also been issued for rough pounding surf, numerous strong Rip Currents and a swift southward flowing long shore current, from 7 AM this morning through 7 PM this evening. * WAVES AND SURF...Large breaking waves of 5 to 7 feet combining with higher than normal astronomical tides will produce dangerous surf conditions and minor beach erosion around the times of next two high tides. * TIMING...The risk of beach erosion will occur around the times of the next two high tides, about 800 AM this morning and again around 830 PM this evening. Numerous strong Rip Currents and a strong southward flowing long shore current will be present all day, with rips being the strongest between 11 AM and 5 PM. * LOCATION...All of the each central Florida beaches from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet. * IMPACTS...Wave runup and minor beach erosion is possible during times of high tide. Rough surf can knock you down and make you more susceptible to being caught in the seaward pull of a Rip Current. Entering the water is not recommended today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and potentially life-threatening swimming conditions. $$
