Current Risk, which is in effect through Tuesday evening.
* LOCATIONS...Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover.
* TIMING...Through Tuesday evening.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Very strong rip currents will be dangerous
to anyone who enters the surf. North to south longshore current
will be moderate strength, and therefore Beach Hazard Statement
has been allowed to expire.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
There is a high risk of rip currents. Life threatening rip
currents are likely in the surf zone.
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties
and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.
If you become caught in a rip current, yell for help. Remain
calm, do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current, swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 11 AM EDT this morning.
* LOCATIONS...Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover.
* TIMING...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 11 AM EDT this
morning. For the High Rip Current Risk, through this evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor street flooding occurs on the
"sound-side" of Carolina Beach in the vicinity of Canal Drive
and could partially cover roadways of Topsail Island. Sand
Dunes damaged from Dorian could allow salt water to pass
through, especially if they weren't repaired yet. And in
addition, salt water may back up through storm drains.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Very strong rip currents will be dangerous
to anyone who enters the surf.

Georgetown. In North Carolina, Coastal Brunswick.
* TIMING...Until 11 AM EDT this morning.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS..."Soundside" flooding in Garden City
Beach with water on Atlantic and Cypress avenues. Storm water
drains backing up with salt water could partially flood local
roadways. Certain Pawleys Island roads could see partial salt
water coverage. Damaged Sand Dunes from Dorian could allow salt
water through if repairs have not been accomplished. Roadways to
and from the barrier islands could briefly observe partial salt
water coverage.

3 PM EDT this afternoon.
* LOCATIONS...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown
Wilmington.
* TIMING...From 11 AM this morning to 3 PM EDT this afternoon.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...North of the Cape Fear Memorial
Bridge...portions of Battleship Road is covered. The westbound
lane of USS North Carolina Road is covered with water up to 1/2
to 1 foot deep. Portions of Water Street of downtown Wilmington
will see 1/2 to possibly 1 foot deep water. In addition,
portions of River Road south of Wilmington will see partial
water coverage.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that weak onshore winds and
high astronomical tides due to the New Moon Cycle, will combine
to generate minor coastal flooding of low lying areas along the
Lower Cape Fear River from Wilmington south.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM to noon EDT
Wednesday.
* LOCATIONS...Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover.
* TIMING...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 10 AM to noon
EDT Wednesday. For the High Rip Current Risk, until 8 PM EDT
this evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...High water run-up on area beaches late
Wednesday morning. The added component of E swell, will likely
bring sea water all the way to the dunes to produce minor
flooding, and a little bit of erosion in spots.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Very strong rip currents will be dangerous
to anyone who enters the surf the remainder of today.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
There is a high risk of rip currents. Life threatening rip
currents are likely in the surf zone.
If you become caught in a rip current, yell for help. Remain
calm, do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. To swim out of a rip current, swim parallel to shore and
back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to swim
directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.
