This Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from late tonight through Thursday evening. * LAKESHORE FLOODING...The combination of high water levels, northwest winds gusting up to 40 mph, and waves of 5 to 10 feet will lead to lakeshore flooding and beach erosion. The highest waves on Thursday will be south of Grand Haven. * IMPACTS...Potential for property damage. Water forced into the channels between pier heads may create the risk of flooding in port towns along the river channel edges. Waves may completely submerge pier decks at times. Northwest facing areas will be most susceptible to flooding and beach erosion. * SWIM HAZARDS...Beaches from St. Joseph to Manistee. Beaches with particularly dangerous conditions include North Beach in South Haven, Holland State Park, Muskegon State Park, Mears State Park in Pentwater and Stearns Park in Ludington.
